This in-depth training course will guide you through what to do in case of an emergency such as a violent intruder, and the role of the lockdown officer in detail. From how to select the right rooms for a lockdown, to safeguarding policies and seeking external help, this course will prepare you every step of the way.

What you will learn?

At the end of the course learners will understand:  

By the end of the course, you will have a solid understanding of the main reasons for a school lockdown and how to prepare for one. You will also be equipped with the practical skills and knowledge to react professionally and diligently in the face of danger.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

  • Explain the lockdown process and safeguarding policies in detail
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the role of the lockdown officer
  • Identify the fundamental reasons for a school lockdown
  • Understand the lockdown signal and “all clear” signal
  • Select which rooms within the school will be suitable for a lockdown
  • Show an awareness of staff lockdown responsibilities and police requirements

All consultants are experienced in delivering engaging health and safety training, and hold professional membership of the chartered Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).

 

Course Test

There is a short informal assessment attached to this course. Delegates who successfully complete the training in full will receive a certificate of training.
