There are no formal entry requirements for this certificate.
Candidates must have completed the full Managing Safety Course within the previous 3 years.
Course Modules
Week / Session 1: Law & Risk Masterclass
Legal Updates & Governance: Navigating current HASWA 1974 trends, statutory duties, corporate liability, enforcement powers, and preventing common breaches.
The 5 Stages of Risk: Identification, assessment, and effective recording of findings under MHSWR 1999.
Hazard Profiles: COSHH control measures, manual handling, vulnerable groups, and stress management standards.
Week / Session 2: Incidents & Performance
Incident Analysis: Defining accidents vs. near misses and understanding RIDDOR 2013 reporting rules.
Root Cause: Using the "5 Whys" to move beyond immediate failures to systemic improvements.
HSG65 Systems & Environment: Mastering "Plan-Do-Check-Act", proactive monitoring via safety tours, and environmental mandates (including Simpler Recycling and Climate Action Plans).

Assessments
To successfully complete the programme and earn your certificate, you will complete practical assignments :
Assessment: One assignment at the end of the first session and a 20-question multiple-choice quiz at the end of week 2 (both to be completed within 2 weeks of the end of the course).
Certification: A pass mark of 14/20 required for the Level 3 Refresher Certificate.
Completion Window: The session assignment and final quiz must be completed and returned within 2 weeks of the end of the course.
Results & Certification
Digital Certificate: Your digital training certificate will be issued within 7 days of your completed assignments being received and reviewed.
